Arbus has installed handrails on the culverts that run alongside the new Northern Relief Road in Bognor. The handrails will stop people falling into the culverts.
If you live in or around Bognor Regis or Chichester, you’ll know that there is a lot of housing development being carried out at the moment. The Bersted Park 750-home development in Bognor Regis is one of the biggest, and the new Bognor Northern Relief Road, a 1.7km single carriageway that will connect Chichester Road to Rowan Way, is being built as part of this development.
The Northern Relief Road is considered the biggest engineering project West Sussex has witnessed for a generation and, as part of this £4-million project, Arbus has been contracted to install handrails on the numerous culverts that are positioned adjacent to the new road.
As you can see in the photo, the culverts allow water to flow under the road, and the handrails will help prevent accidents. With the project on a tight deadline, it was important that the handrail job was carried out expertly and quickly, and the experienced Arbus installation team finished the job to a high standard and to deadline.
The Northern Relief Road in Bognor Regis is due to open in 2015.
